THE PROJECT FRAMEWORK

COMMUTING SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

A system that not only using specific traffic accident data to identify the exact causal factor that causes the traffic/commuting problem within the community but these data are used to address the problem holistically by considering the different causal factors (human, road infrastructure and vehicle) to traffic accidents together.

This framework requires collaboration from different parties and in this case, the data is collected from PERKESO, PDRM, industries, employers, external parties like JKR, PDC and MBSP and public.

WHY ARE THERE MANY PARTIES NEEDED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS FRAMEWORK ?

The data that is collected from the industries will help in triangulating the accuracy of the data that is obtain from PERKESO and PDRM so that more accurate intervention can be done.

The intervention is guided by the analysis of this data and will address the problem not in silo but multifactorial. This framework will address the the causal factors together, possibly the need to address the problem from the human and the road factor.

In the process of triangulating the data, the development of a certain set of skills for different parties will occur which will help the employer to have the tools needed to address traffic accident intervention.

For the external parties, they would now know how to best use their limited resources to the best possible means to address the road safety issue.

For individual workers and public, they can share hazard spot information to the public and the community which will improve their risk assessment perception. This will lead them to behave differently at these risky places and spots.

Eventually, from this framework, the team will be able to develop sets of knowledge in the long term where each of these parties will be able to govern their own traffic accident problems to the best of their ability within their own compound.
